Les Radeon Crimson Graphics Hotfix 16.5.2.1 sont disponibles, bilan

AMD vient de mettre en ligne de nouveaux drivers pour ses cartes graphiques Radeon. Estampillés Radeon Crimson Graphics Hotfix 16.5.2.1, ils apportent des améliorations des performances pour les solutions R9 series 390

Cette nouvelle version des Radeon Crimson Graphics, à savoir les 16.5.2.1 propose une hausse des performances conséquente pour le titre Doom puisque AMD annonce des gains jusqu’à 35% avec les solutions de la gamme R9 390 series. Il y a par contre encore des problèmes connus sous plusieurs titres comme The Witcher 3: Wild Hunt, Fallout 4, Call of Duty: Advanced Warfare ou encore Forza Motorsport 6: Apex,

En ce qui concerne la compatibilité, ils s’adressent en environnement Windows 7,8.1 et 10 dans leurs déclinaisons 32 et 64-bit. L’installation « propre » passe par le téléchargement de l’archive appropriée, la désinstallation de la version utilisée, un redémarrage puis l’exécution de l’installation. Il suffit ensuite de suive à l’écran les différentes étapes puis de redémarrer encore une fois sa machine pour que les changements prennent bien

Radeon Software Crimson Edition 16.5.2.1 Highlights:

  • Performance increase by up to 35% on AMD Radeon R9 390 series products in Doom versus Radeon Software Crimson Edition 16.5.2

Note:

  • Testing conducted by AMD Performance Labs as of May 16, 2016 on the AMD Radeon R9 390, on a test system comprising Intel i7 5960X CPU, 16GB memory, AMD RSCE 16.5.2 and AMD RSCE 16.5.2.1, Windows 10 x64 using the game Doom.
  • PC Manufacturers may vary configurations, yielding different results.
  • At 1920×1080 AMD RSCE 16.5.2 scored 70.29 and AMD RSCE 16.5.2.1 scored 95.11 on the AMD Radeon R9 390, which is 35% faster performance.

Known Issues:

  • A few game titles may fail to launch or crash if the AMD Gaming Evolved overlay is enabled. A temporary workaround is to disable the AMD Gaming Evolved “In Game Overlay”.
  • Users in Quad AMD Crossfire technology configurations may be unable to re-enable AMD Crossfire mode when using the global AMD Crossfire option in the “Gaming” tab and toggling it from on to off.
  • The Witcher 3: Wild Hunt inventory and character pages may exhibit flickering in AMD Crossfire technology mode.
  • Call of Duty: Advanced Warfare may exhibit stuttering when using AMD FreeSync technology and AMD Crossfire technology in conjunction.
  • Installing Radeon Software Crimson Edition 16.5.2.1 multiple times on the same machine after rebooting may cause the installer to hang.
  • The AMD Crossfire mode options in Radeon Settings may not take effect on Origin or Uplay applications.
  • Radeon Settings Additional Settings page may not be available when upgrading to Radeon Software Crimson Edition 16.5.2.1 from the current windows update driver. As a work around please clean uninstall all current Radeon Software when upgrading if your system exhibits this issue.
  • Some textures may exhibit flickering in Fallout 4 when using AMD Crossfire technology.
  • Forza Motorsport 6: Apex may exhibit brightness flickering when using AMD FreeSync technology.
  • Frame Rate Target Control gaming profiles may fail to enable for some games.

NOTE:

  • This driver is not intended for use on AMD products running in Apple Boot Camp platforms. Users of these platforms should contact their system manufacturer for driver support.
  • When installing the AMD Radeon Software Crimson Edition 16.5.2.1 Driver for the Windows operating system, the user must be logged on as Administrator, or have Administrator rights to complete the installation of the AMD Radeon Software Crimson Edition 16.5.2.1 Driver.
  • The AMD Radeon Software Crimson Edition 16.5.2.1 Driver requires Windows 7 Service Pack 1 to be installed.

How-To Uninstall AMD Radeon Software:

  • Start by opening the Control Panel
  • For Windows 10/8.1, right-click on the Windows button and select Control Panel from the Context Menu
  • For Windows 7, click on the Windows button and select Control Panel from the Start Menu
  •  In the Control Panel select Programs and Features
  • Select AMD Install Manager and then click Uninstall/Change
  • Check all items, and then click the Uninstall button.
  • Note: If you had others versions of AMD drivers installed previously, you should get an additional prompt providing the options to remove All Versions or Current Version.
  • Select All Versions to remove all AMD drivers and application components (recommended).
  • Select Current Version will uninstall only the latest version of the drivers and its related components.
  • The uninstall process will begin removing drivers and software components.
  • Select Restart Now to complete the uninstallation process.
  • To verify that the AMD Radeon Software has been removed from the system, return to the Program and Features list, and check that there are no AMD entries. If AMD specific entries are still listed, remove them using the above process.

How-To Install AMD Radeon Software:

  • Ensure that any existing versions of AMD Radeon Software on the system have been uninstalled before proceeding with installing a new driver.
  • Close all opened applications including anti-virus, firewall, remote-access, or webcam software before attempting the install process.
  • Double-click the downloaded file and select Install to begin file extraction process.
  • Note: It is recommended to use the default destination folder for installation.
  • Select the desired components or keep default selection (recommended) and click Install.
  • The drivers and software components will begin installing.
  • Note: The screen will flicker whilst the AMD Radeon Software is being installed. If you have multiple displays, some of them may turn black for a few seconds.
  • Once the drivers and software have been successfully installed, choose Restart Now
  • Note: A system restart is required to complete the installation process.
