A l’occasion du Week End, Microsoft a publié une nouvelle construction de Windows 10 19H1. Windows 10 build 18358 est proposée aux utilisateurs inscrits sur l’anneau rapide du programme Windows Insider. Nous sommes désormais proche de la RTM.
Windows 10 build 18358 n’apporte aucune nouvelle fonctionnalité. Il n’y a pas de nouveauté. Tout ceci est logique car nous sommes dans la dernière ligne droite du développement de l’OS. La priorité de Microsoft est d’éliminer les bugs et optimiser les performances.
Du coup, les nouveautés sont seulement des correctifs pour différents problèmes. Par exemple, Microsoft apporte une solution à un souci de corbeille (Windows.old) et corrige un bug à l’origine d’un crash fatal. Ce dernier est nommé Ecran vert de la mort dans le programme Windows Insider. Les joueurs profitent de leur coté de correctifs pour améliorer les performances en streaming et en enregistrement.
Des corrections et des tests
Le géant poursuit également ses tests de gaming mais sans entrer dans les détails. Dona Sarkar, responsable du programme Windows Insider explique seulement
« Vous avez déjà installé la version Insider de State of Decay ? Nous allons essayer une autre mise à jour plus tard aujourd’hui. Pour l’obtenir, lancez l’application Store, cliquez sur […], puis sur «Téléchargements et mises à jour». Une fois installé, vous ne devriez pas observer de différence dans le jeu. Il s’agit simplement d’une mise à jour test. Merci de nous informer si quelque chose ne fonctionne pas. »
Cette build n’est pas encore parfaite car elle s’accompagne de problèmes connus et pas encore corrigés. Un bug affecte par exemple l’application Microsoft Store. Ses mises à jour ne s’installent pas automatiquement. Il est nécessaire de procéder à une recherche manuellement, puis les installer à partir du magasin.

Once installed, you shouldn’t see any difference in the game – it’s just a test update – but please let us know if anything doesn’t work!
- We fixed an issue that could result in the thumbnails in Alt + Tab sometimes becoming offset.
- We fixed an issue where certain upgrade paths could result in the contents of the Recycle Bin being left under Windows.old.
- We fixed an issue resulting in upgrades failing at 18% or 25% and rolling back for some Insiders.
- We fixed an issue resulting in some Insider experiencing green screens with error KERNEL_SECURITY_VIOLATION.
- We fixed an issue resulting in some apps using the Windows Installer failing to install recently.
Known issues
- Microsoft Store app updates do not automatically install on 18356+. As a workaround, you can manually check for, and install updates via the Microsoft Store app. Open Select “…” > “Downloads and updates” > “Get updates”.
- Launching games that use anti-cheat software may trigger a bugcheck (GSOD).
- Creative X-Fi sound cards are not functioning properly. We are partnering with Creative to resolve this issue.
- Some Realtek SD card readers are not functioning properly. We are investigating the issue.
- We’re investigating an issue preventing VMware from being able to install or update Windows Insider Preview builds. Hyper-V is a viable alternative if available to you.
Known issues for Developers
- If you install any of the recent builds from the Fast ring and switch to the Slow ring, optional content such as enabling developer mode will fail. You will have to remain in the Fast ring to add/install/enable optional content. This is because optional content will only install on builds approved for specific rings.
