Microsoft propose à l’occasion du Patch Tuesday de novembre 2017 plusieurs mises à jour cumulatives dont KB4048954. Elle s’adresse aux PC sous Windows 10 Creators Update alias Windows 10 v1703.
KB4048954 permet de faire évoluer l’OS de la version 15063.726 à la version15063.728. Cette mise à jour apporte plusieurs correctifs de sécurité mais pas seulement.
Son installation propose de résoudre un problème issu d’une précédente mise à jour cumulative. Cela concerne le « Sync Center » et une planification. Microsoft reconnaît que certains utilisateurs obtiennent une erreur de type « Error: 0x80070005. Access Denied »
A cela s’ajoute un deuxième correctif concernant cette fois la mise à jour KB4038788. Dans certains cas son installation se solde par un écran noir. L’utilisateur est alors obligé de redémarrer son PC pour abandonner son installation.

Il existe également des correctifs pour certains composants de Windows 10 comme le navigateur Internet Explorer. Ce bug a occasionné des problèmes de gestion des sites intranet. Microsoft Edge est aussi concerné afin de résoudre une fuite de mémoire tout en apportant des réglages pour affiner le défilement à l’origine d’un blocage du navigateur dans certaines cas.
Concernant la sécurité, il y a beaucoup de correctifs. Ils visent des applications comme Internet Explorer, Microsoft Edge, Windows Media Player et d’autres mais aussi le noyau Windows.

Addressed issue where applications based on the Microsoft JET Database Engine (Microsoft Access 2007 and older or non-Microsoft applications) fail when creating or opening Microsoft Excel .xls files. The error message is: “Unexpected error from external database driver (1). (Microsoft JET Database Engine)”.
Addressed issue where the RDP Connection from a Windows 10 1703 client to Windows Server 2008 R2 fails with the error: “An internal error occurred”. This problem occurs when the server is configured in RemoteFX mode. You may also see a black or incorrectly painted screen.
Addressed issue where, after an OS upgrade, setting an offline schedule in the Sync Center applet of Control Panel fails. The error message that appears is: “Sync Center Error. An error occurred displaying sync schedules. Error: 0x80070005. Access Denied.”
Addressed issue where RemoteApp and Desktop Connection settings fail to apply when you set them using Group Policy or a script.
Addressed issue where the virtual smart card doesn’t assess the Trusted Platform Module (TPM) vulnerability correctly.
